Primary Singing Time Olympics!

The Primary Olympics are a great way to test and reward the children who worked so hard to learn all the songs for the Children's Sacrament Meeting Presentation.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

What you see above:

1. Olympic torch. This is a relay which you "pass the torch" while a song is playing. When the pianist stops, the child holding the torch comes up to the board

2. The Board: I pasted Olympic rings (I used a salad plate for a circle stencil) on a piece of foam board. I then taped the songs the children learned for the year on the board. For little children who can't read, I put colored "smiley" sticker on each song. That way they can choose a certain song by pointing to the "smiley" sticker they like best :O)

3. The child who brings the torch up to the board, then chooses the song they want the Primary to "medal" for!

4. GOLD*SILVER*BRONZE: I made 3 sets of 3" circles glued to popsicle sticks. These are given
to up to 3 " judges. The children then sing the song the child chose to challenge. Depending on the judges score, I will tape a small 1 1/2" metallic circle on the song based on their score. I do offer the children a chance to "GO FOR THE GOLD" if they received a bronze or silver score the first time around. The kids are usually excited to sing it better!

5. This can be done over 2 weeks, especially if this is a challenge/review of all the songs for the year.

As a reward, each child gets a "GOLD" medal for their great work, practice, and effort!

Have FUN!!!
